Have you ever looked up the word faith? It is written in the scriptures in many different forms. Some of those forms are truth, verily, amen, steady and many others. Looking at the Hebrew words that are represented by these many different English words can give insight into the scriptures. Here is an example of what I am talking about. One of the forms of faith is pronounced by many as "amen". In Hebrew it is spelled alef-mem-nun. It is written from right to left. Each letter has a meaning. Alef represents a father. Mem represents nourishment and nun represents the seed or future generation. When you put it together you can see that the father provides nourishment for the seed. Children usually don't worry about where they are going to get their food from. They know that their father will provide for them. They have faith. They know that what they believe is the truth. Do you see how the Hebrew letters paint a picture of the meaning of the word. I am not an expert on the Hebrew language. I am just sharing some of my studies to promote positive and fun conversation. Feel free to add comments and share additional information.
Shalom
I never knew "amen" was similar to "faith". You're showing yourself worthy to search out the language because English & Greek words are limited in comparison to Hebrew. Thank you for the comparisons.
